living state

Kiwi heavy rock band Living State had an album to release and I had a creative itch to scratch. We bashed our heads together and knocked out three stylised videos.

Alter Ego (above) was built on a simple concept but gave me plenty of room to finesse details and experiment.

Vantage, (right) created under tight logistical constraints, developed a truly unique style with its bold colour grade, slow motion, and striking probe lens shots.

For Black and White Man, (below) I took a different approach and brought in a friend to DOP the shoot. We stayed up all night and played as zombies in the hallways.

Music videos are a creative playground, free from the usual constraints of branding, messaging, or commercial expectations. They offer the freedom to experiment, test new ideas, and sharpen skills that ultimately feed back into more conventional work.

Lux Ujdur (Bassist and gentle giant) is a best friend of mine and we go way back. Stay tuned to see him in a chicken suit for our next video.
